For most shoots all that is required is a basic film permit from the Belize Film Commission. The process of obtaining this permit is simple, straightforward, and inexpensive.
Additional permits may be required if you wish to shoot in an Archaeological reserve (Mayan ruins, caves) or in a marine or forest reserve. Depending on the scale of your production it may be necessary to get a street usage permit in the larger municipalities if you will be affecting the flow of vehicular or pedestrian traffiic.
Work permits are not required for any crew members or talent working on your production. Citizens of USA, Canada, UK, EU and Caricom countries, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, only need a valid passport to enter Belize. Depending on nationality, citizens of certain countries may receive a tourist visa on arrival while others may need to apply for a visa at their nearest Belizean embassy or consulate prior to arrival.
